Exploration

This afternoon/evening our contractor was installing our tile and cooktop...so to keep busy we took the dogs up to the top of Dictionary Hill (the hill we live on) to see what we could see. Rumor has it the hill got its name from long ago when the hill was first purchased. Every person who bought a lot of land was given a dictionary. Don't know the reason behind it...maybe so they could look up more words to describe the amazing view???

It's pretty incredible all you can see from up here. Don't know if you can see the labels I made, but if you click on the picture I think you can see the picture larger. From left to right, you can see: the Silver Strand, Point Loma, the Coronado bridge, and downtown San Diego. Pretty cool!

The Moon

I don't know what is happening with the moon lately, but it is super big and really yellow right now...and it looks especially cool when it rises over the mountain behind the house. These are my two favorite shots I've captured in the last week. I love my camera!

In other news, the butcher block and oven came in Tuesday! We had some issues with the cooktop, but we are getting a new one today. That will be above the oven. The tile work has been delayed until today, too, so I can't wait to get home and see it! I will have more pictures soon...

Recent Developments

Tuesday night we found ourselves with a new sink and faucet in the half bath...woohoo!
A kitchen sink...
washer and dryer...we did our first load of laundry as soon as the contractor left! :-)
And most importantly, we got the fridge!!! It was a struggle to get this thing in. As you can see, it BARELY fits in the space. We are just thankful we can start storing food now!
At the moment we are just waiting on the oven, cook-top, and back splashes to be put in...Sunday is the day!!!

Good Morning To You

Tuesday was our first night sleeping in the house. We have no appliances installed yet, and the place is a mess, but our couch is in its place and our beds are made at least.
As I resentfully trudged downstairs a little after 6AM Wednesday morning to tell the doggies to stop barking, I was greeted with this view from our deck...and suddenly, everything was ok again :-)

Hopefully this next week we will get internet again, and I can start posting "real" pictures instead of ones from my phone!
