Black Saturday

Well, typically this picture blog is Sara's thing...But for a certain reason, one that hopefully will never happen again, I was obligated to take over. Basically, Saturday Sara and I went on a challenging bike ride in Rancho Penasquitos and it went a little haywire. Roundtrip it was 10.5 miles, half of which we had previously hiked by foot. I was in front of Sara on our way back when I heard a weird sound behind me. We were going down a steep hill with all sorts of loose cobble stones and Sara lost control. Honestly the pictures don't show how bad it looked, I was freaked out, when I first ran up it looked pretty bad. She was twisted up with the bike, the handle bars bruised her chest and thighs. She was so tough though, she rode/walked all 3 long miles back to our car! Tough German blood I tell you! haha. So Sara is out of commission for a little while, we're very thankful she wasn't hurt worse!

p.s. I am never writing another blog for Sara because it took 10 minutes of verbal torture to fix all the spelling/grammatical errors

  4. Yep, this is proof that me and bikes do not mix well. I think from now on we are going to stick to nice, smooth, PAVED bike paths...at least for a long while=)

  5. Nicely written, Clint. Maybe you'll just have to get in the rotation with Sara on this blog--like it or not! I'm sure you were quite scared to see her in a tangled mess. Way to be brave, Sara :)

  8. I love picture number 7. I know you're thinking, "Living in So. Calif. IS dangerous; must go back to Washington..." Moms just know these things.

  9. Nice trail scars!! Better than those lame-o "bike paths" in sun river. ;-) (flame suit on)
Guys I work with ride ski hills in the summer, one even cracked his arm.
You were wearing a helmet, right?

  10. Thanks big brudda, I think I will have some scars once it's all healed=) This was no wimpy trail, that's for sure. It actually beat me up. And uh, no...we weren't wearing helmets...for shame!
